All films submitted to the Scandinavian International Film Festival are first reviewed by our Festival Selection Committee. Films produced 2017, 2018, 2019 and 2020 of any genre are accepted for submission. English subtitle is indeed for the films that having any other language than English or Finnish. This task is a big undertaking and this year the Selection Committee thoroughly expects and evaluates hundreds of submissions. Through a process of elimination, films will be chosen to be screened at the festival and festival special event.

All applications must be made before the submission closing date. The festival charges an application fee. This is an administrative charge, and does not guarantee that the film will be selected. The entry fee is non-refundable. Unfortunately, we don’t have the possibility to return the DVD’s, or to leave detailed feedback on your film other than accepted/not accepted.

The program committee’s decision to accepted/not accepted will be announced to you on 20.7.2020 or earlier.

All selected films should be able to download. 

The festival can use all the material that is submitted to the festival including the posters and trillers without any permission.

The festival owns unlimited screening rights for the selected films. No screening fees will be paid. The festival owns the rights, not screen all the selected films. The festival holds the right to screen all selected movies in the festival sub-events.

The Nordic Aurora- the trophy is available to be sent to the winners all around the world. However, the receiver is responsible for any damage or loss of the sent trophy. Notice that the shipping cost should be paid and arranged by the winner. Notice the festival have the rights to change or update the shape and the material of the Trophies.
